Here is a series of monotypes (oil paintings on paper) based upon remembered imaged from "Underground Cities" in Turkey. Gli Interni Profundi reveals an interior landscape, the hidden parts of the Psyche. Here is the roiling soup of the creative self, interior elements that lurk in the shadows, convoluted fragments of organism that coalesce and drift apart. At once mysterious and poetic, the deep interior underpins all that we are.

Created without brushes, using only brayers, the paintings' surface exudes fluid energy. Characteristic of the monotype process, the result is transparent overlays balancing weighty areas of complex color. Captured in a square format, the images suggest that there are secrets lying outside the bounds of the composition.
